The Special food and drink in Iraq

Iraqi food is rich and diverse and there are many different dishes and drinks. Iraqi people prefer lamb, beef, goat, mutton and poultry meat as Muslims do not eat pork or pork products. As in other Middle Eastern countries, Iraqi meat dishes are often combined with vegetables and rice. Iraqi people cook many of different dishes such as “dolmas, tabcy they use in tabcy “eggplant, potato, tomato and meat. Also they cook many different kind of rice they sometimes cook the rice with lentils, peas, vermicelli or corn. The special dish in Iraq is the dolmaand it has been used for a long time. Also eggplant, zucchini, onion, capsicum, tomato, celery, rice and meat are used Iraqi people drink a lot of tea and coffee

Arabic coffee is famous for its strong flavour. In Iraq, people brew their coffee thick and bitter, and serve it black. Tea is usually served in small glasses and drunk sweetened, without milk. Fruit juices and soft drinks are also popular. Muslims are officially forbidden to consume alcohol. Government help families with food items such as wheat flour, rice, sugar, tea and cooking oil. Those with children under a year old can also get milk-powder, when available.
